Our Story

Megha Mountain Organics began as the personal journey of our founder, Geneva Dohling. After years in the corporate world with multinational firms, she returned to her roots in Meghalaya, inspired by her father’s work as a ginger cultivator and a deep desire to make a positive impact. What started as a small initiative soon grew into a mission: to showcase the finest organic produce from Meghalaya, beginning with the world-renowned Lakadong turmeric, while empowering local communities and practicing sustainable agriculture.

Megha Mountain Organics was born as more than just a business—it is our way of honoring the land and uplifting the people who nurture it. We champion sustainable farming practices, empower rural women and farmers, and deliver the finest organic products. At the heart of our work lies our flagship Lakadong turmeric, a nutritional powerhouse celebrated for its uniquely high curcumin content and exceptional flavor.

 

As our vision expanded, Meghessence Organics Pvt. Ltd. was established to carry this mission forward on a larger scale. Under this company, Megha Mountain Organics continues as our consumer-facing brand, while we invest in projects like a solar-powered spice processing unit near Shillong, global market linkages, and initiatives that create deeper social and environmental impact.

Our purpose remains the same: to blend traditional farming wisdom with modern innovation, to highlight Lakadong turmeric to the world, and to create a model of agriculture that is sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready.
